Becky and Bret had beautiful weather for their spring wedding. They requested having pictures taken around Chagrin Falls, so thanks to great weather, this worked out really well. They also planned a stop at Jekyll’s Kitchen to share a toast with the bridal party and get a few pictures inside the restaurant and on their balcony overlooking the falls.
This couple is the perfect example of why it’s good to have an engagement shoot prior to your wedding. It’s odd for most people to spend an hour or more in front of the camera posing, and all of that fun stuff, so the engagement shoot gives you a chance to get to know the photographer, their style, whether or not you guys all get along, and a chance to relax and have fun with posing. At one point on our walk around Chagrin Falls, I mentioned to Becky that she seemed really comfortable with posing. She said that after looking at her engagement pictures, she felt like she was too uptight, so she was making a conscious effort to have more fun with it. I think it shows in the pictures. They did a great job, and had fun with it!
Becky and Bret’s ceremony was held at St. Rita’s in Solon, and their reception was held at The Bertram Inn. A special part of the evening included Becky’s dad’s band playing at the reception. Family and friends enjoyed watching their first public performance, and I think everyone could tell that it meant a lot to him to perform at his daughter’s wedding.
